Annual Memberships
Annual Memberships in the Bald Head Island Sailing Club provide year-round access to several 20-25’ keel boats docked at the Bald Head Island Marina and North Beach Sailing Center. Members can check-out boats by booking them on this web site (see Boat Sign-Up page), or by calling 910-457-SAIL. Several time slots a day are available, and members may book as far in advance or as close to their desired check-out time as they like (depending on boat availability).
Membership price includes participation in Tuesday Funsails and Saturday Regattas. Members also receive 10% off on all Bald Head Island Sailing Club and Bald Head Island Regatta gear. Lessons are available to members at a discounted rate of $150 for 12 hours of instruction.
Annual Memberships are $1,250.
Temporary Memberships
Temporary Memberships provide an ideal way for vacationers to explore Bald Head Island’s waters, learn new skills, and create lasting family memories. Temporary Members enjoy the same access to boats that Annual Members share.
Temporary Memberships are $500 a week, for a consequtive, seven day period. An additional week may be added at reduced rate of $250.
Temporary Members with limited sailing experience can receive 12 hours of instruction for $500. Additional lessons are available to temporary members at a discounted rate of $150 for 12 hours of instruction.
Seasonal Members
Seasonal memberships are ideal for those who choose to spend time on the island from late fall to early spring.
Seasonal memberships are $625 and are valid October-April.
Associate Memberships
A limited number of Associate Memberships are available to employees of Bald Head Island Limited or its affiliated companies. Associate Members are restricted to booking boats no more than 24 hours in advance of their desired check-out time.
Associate memberships are $500 a year for a family.
Trail Memberships
Trail memberships are available for sailers who are considering joining the BHI Sailing Club. A three-hour sail with an instructor and an orientation to the club are included.
Trail memberships are $75.
